Strivectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner Review for Brown Women

No comments :
strivectin advanced retinol pore refiner

안녕 Bumblebees!

Thanks to iFabbo I got to try out the Strivectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner. This little puppy claims to give you pores half their size! I have normal to dry skin so after reading about this daily pore reducing moisturizer-- and seeing as though I had just ran out of my drugstore moisturizer-- I decided to give it a try!

About Strivectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner

From the company's website:
Reduce the appearance of enlarged pores and refine texture for a smooth, even complexion.
New Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner is a lightweight daily pore-minimizing lotion and anti aging moisturizer with Retinol that delivers both instant and long-term visible pore reduction. 96% of subjects had an immediate improvement in visible pore size after a single application.** Patented NIA-114™ technology nourishes the moisture barrier to provide visible age fighting efficacy as it limits the sensitivity common to Retinol use. The powerfully effective blend purifies and refines both skin tone and texture, while delivering superior age fighting benefits.

Directions for Use

Apply all over clean face in the AM and PM. Use as the last step in your skincare routine. Apply after sunscreen for an optimal mattifying effect.

Strivectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner Ingredients

Aqua (Water, Eau), Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Myristyl Nicotinate, Ethylene/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Mica, Butylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 20, Glycerin, Oleic/Linoleic/Linolenic Polyglycerides, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Retinol, Retinyl Palmitate, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Lecithin, Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Seed Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Tocopherol, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sterols, Bisabolol, Rosa Multiflora Fruit Extract, Plankton Extract, Salicylic Acid, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Oryzanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sorbitan Oleate, Cetearyl Glucoside, Behenyl Alcohol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Dimethicone/ Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Aminomethyl Propanol, Acrylamide/Sodium Acryloyldimethyltaurate Copolymer, Isohexadecane, Poloxamer 338, Polysorbate 80, Parfum (Fragrance), Disodium EDTA, Sorbic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, BHT, CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77491/ CI 77492/ CI 77499 (Iron Oxides)

Stivectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner Packaging

What I really like about the Pore Refiner is that the tube is opaque so the ingredients, especially the retinol, won't degrade from light exposure. The pump is perfect because it allows you to control how much product you dispense (a full pump is too much in my opinion.)

My Review on the Strivectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner

I like to apply this at night by itself or during the day as the last step in my skincare routine. This is a great product if you want a mattifier. (Sometimes my boyfriend asked if I was wearing makeup when I wasn't.) It helps blur out your pores but I didn't see any significant shrinking of my pores.

I have sensitive skin so I appreciate the fact that this didn't cause me to break out.

Over all I recommend this product for it's mattifying effects but I'm not convinced on the pore refining aspect of the product. I give it 4 stars also because it's kinda pricey at $99.

Applying Sunscreen Just Got Better

No comments :

Hey bestie, I have a question for you...
How often do you wear sunscreen?
...
...
What keeps you from wearing it more often?
Is it the horrendous smell?

That it takes forever to absorb and leaves a white cast over your face? Or because there's no sun out?   These were certainly some of my excuses to not wear sunblock everyday. And girlfriend they are poor excuses to not wear sunblock! Whether it's overcast outside or sunny you should protect your precious skin everyday. Just because the sun isn't gleaming doesn't mean that harmful rays aren't still reaching your skin. Dangerous rays that can lead to premature skin aging and skin cancer.

And even if you're melanin-blessed you're still not FULLY protected from the harmful rays of the sun. Yes, you do have some built in sunblock but face it sister you can still get skin cancer (although you're less likely) and could look older faster (it's not true that black doesn't crack). We ALL could use a little protection from the sun.

Thanks to iFabbo, I discovered a solution that solves many of the flaws of traditional sunscreen and will make wearing sunscreen on your face a heck of a lot easier. It's called:

dermalogica, skin care, spf, spf50, sunscreen, high end skin care, dark spots, dermalogica dynamic skin recovery

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50 - $65 (1.7 oz)
This multi-benefit product is a firming, emollient moisturizer, anti-aging agent and sunscreen all in one. Read more about its benefits from this description I stole from dermologica.com:

Help minimize skin-aging triggers with this medium-weight, emollient daily moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF50. Antioxidant White Tea, rich in polyphenols, inhibits lipid peroxide formation and helps neutralize free radicals (ROS), Advanced Glycation End-Products (AGEs) and Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPs). Patented Oleosome encapsulation technology boosts sunscreen effectiveness for critical protection against UV rays, while a unique polypeptide helps encourage collagen-producing activities. Blends smoothly over skin to create a perfected finish. Formulated without artificial fragrances, colors or parabens.

Review
As someone who is always on the go I am always looking for products that are multi-benefit. Space-saving, coin-loving multi-benefit products. I always have ultra dry skin so I love products that are moisturizing enough to last all day. This does last all day (even though they advise reapplication every 2 hours for proper skin protection) and it's very light weight. Much lighter than traditional sunscreens which tend to be a thick, greasy coating on the skin.

The dispenser dispenses the perfect amount of the product for your face. The formula is white and has the viscosity of a lotion. When I first saw the formula I was concerned that this would leave a total white cast over my face. That is the worst! Boy was I pleasantly surprised to find that it blends in completely and absorbs quickly into the skin.

When it comes to the scent it doesn't smell bad but it also doesn't smell great. It's uhhhh.... so-so. Let's just say it's tolerable.

I haven't seen an increase in breakouts nor have I seen a reduction in acne scars.

It says that this is a firming product and this is one of the features that makes this an anti-aging product. I personally have not noticed any difference in the firmness of my skin.

Dermalogica recommends that when you apply this product that you totally avoid the mouth area as well as the eye area. I myself did not test this product on my eyes as I have learned the hard way in the past that there's a reason why Brands give instructions on how to use the product and I would suggest you listen to the Brand and avoid these areas as well.

Overall, I love this product. I use it everyday primarily for its moisturizing and sun-blocking capabilities. It is quite pricey, if this was much cheaper..... Say $24 maybe I would give it 5 stars but I feel the price is way too high.

The price for this is a little cheaper on Amazon at about $50 which is a savings of $15! It's worth checking it out on Amazon. Click here to compare prices on Amazon!

I rate this as:

So have you tried this yet? What do you love or hate about it? What are some of your other favorite sunscreens?
